Samsung Galaxy A26 5G Review – Smart Mid-Range Choice for 2025

Release Date: Announced March 2, 2025 | Available from March 19, 2025

Introduction

The Galaxy A26 5G arrives as Samsung’s new mid-range contender for 2025. With a 6.7-inch 120 Hz display, IP67 rating, and six years of promised updates, it aims to offer high value without flagship pricing.

Design & Build

Measuring 164 × 77.5 × 7.7 mm and weighing about 200 g, the A26 features a slim profile for its class. It has Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the front (and reportedly back), a plastic frame, and an IP67 dust & water-resistant rating. Colour options include Black, White, Mint and Peach Pink.

Display

The phone sports a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution (1080×2340) and a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate. This combo delivers fluid scrolling and vibrant visuals—rare in this price range.

Performance & Software

Under the hood, it uses the Exynos 1380 (5 nm) chipset globally (with Exynos 1280 in some regions). RAM/storage options start around 6–8 GB + 128 GB up to 256 GB. It ships with Android 15 and One UI 7 out of the box, and Samsung promises six years of major OS and security updates.

Camera & Battery

The rear setup includes a 50 MP main sensor with OIS, an 8 MP ultra-wide camera and a 2 MP macro lens. The front camera is 13 MP. Battery capacity stands at 5,000 mAh with 25 W wired charging support.

Pros & Cons

What We Liked

  • Premium display (120 Hz, AMOLED) at a mid-range price
  • IP67 rating — rare in this segment
  • Six years of updates promised
  • Solid camera for the price, with OIS on the main sensor

What Could Be Better

  • Charging speed is only 25 W — slower than some rivals
  • No headphone jack or stereo speakers (in some regions)
  • Ultra-wide and macro cameras are weaker than main sensor

Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy A26 5G offers an excellent balance between features and price for 2025. If you’re looking for a future-proof mid-range phone with a great display, long software support, and solid build, the A26 is a strong contender. Power users or those wanting fastest charging/performance may look elsewhere, but for most users this is a smart purchase.
